2005-04-08 - 9:33 a.m. Cookie Monster Gets Politicially Correct. Cookie Monster is no longer Cookie Monster. I believe he will be singing a song now not �C� for cookies, but �V� for vegetables. Now I understand that child obesity is a problem in American, but please can I just say this. I never ate a single cookie because of cookie monster. I did eat cookies from the �Bet ya bite a Chip� commercials. I am glad Sesame Street is raising awareness and they are going to promote healthier things, but I don�t think that Cookie Monster is the reason America is fat. I would much RATHER that the show refused to air commercials of products that add to obesity, because between the Keebler Elfs, the Chips Ahoy, and the Oreo double Stuff commercials I remember from my youth, I think the real snake is the advertising. OR If you are going to hamstring Cookie Monster, turning him into Pussy Monster, at least have a friend who eats vegetables instead of changing cookie�s motif. Like I could get behind a Green Monster. For obvious reasons. If Cookie gets a makeover I demand �A Very Special Sesame Street.� Next on a Very Special Sesame Street, Oscar contemplates suicide.
