2003-11-18 - 1:54 p.m. Treatment for a script I shouldn't do this cause like 40% of the readers of this know that I am not a writer nor am I a film student. Nonetheless::: Treatment for a script Time Travel Movie Comedy Lead Actor is a man who has traveled back in time to stop the opposing character from having any offspring. The reason: The offspring have done something awful in the future. What? I am not sure yet, but the idea is that there are more than one. The lead actor is sent back in time to �get the balls� of the father of the offspring. He cannot harm him, however, he must convince him; this is because there is a time travel directive (like the Star Trek : Prime directive) that prohibits acting on anyone�s free will in the past. This includes harming them. The loophole is that you can convince people to harm themselves; that�s okay. So this lone man is sent back to Problems: Why is one man sent back? Theory � the evil force that threaten the future world have, become a problem. The one guy who goes back is a fairly untrained police man (though maybe not) and his only companion is some sort of robot. The police force in the future uses time travel to stop crimes; like in minority report, but instead of predicting the future, they just go back in time and stop the crime before it happens. They only make short leaps and can never travel ahead in time. So since he can never come back, they only send one guy. They have time to see if he fails so why send more than one? Like I said though. This is a comedy. The idea is that this guy makes a deal in the first 10 minutes of the movies to buy the balls of the offspring�s father, for 20 million dollars or 10 million dollars a ball. The problem is the only form of money that he has is one credit card that he took with him which was a relic. See there is no cash in the future and they only have credit cards that were dug up. So a few were found that are good for the time period he is traveling too. I am sure that at some point he will convince a girl that he is from the future. Doesn�t that always happen. I would want Luke Wilson as the main character, and Horatio Sanz as the Robot side kick. I imagine that the conflict would be that now that he has the guys balls he needs the 20 million dollars. He insists that he has a very clever plan to get 20 million dollars, and that�s the easy part. The evil force will send someone back in time as well to stop him. I can�t decided what I would want this person to be like. Menacing or sneaky. Like will he/she try to convince the guys loosing the balls to not do it, or will they try and kill Luke Wilson. Sneaky or Menacing. Anyway, I just think it would be funny to see a time travel comedy that�s well done like Back to the Future, where things are fairly low-key. Like no lazer guns or things like that. And I got a GREAT ending. But I�m not telling you that now. ~Gump | |||||||||||
