Yikes! Sorry about the whole serious extreme pain thing. Worse than the game last night. Hope they finally found a painkiller that would help.

The game last night was horrible.

Yes. Had a kidney stone in September. My first one. Never again do I want another one. I've had two children. I'd take a third one delivered via my nose rather than another kidney stone.

A pain almost equal to childbirth. Ouch. Have they told you how you're going to get them out? Hope you feel better. At least it really isn't that pesky leprechaun. He'd be harder to get out. =)

God, I'm so sorry! I've heard passing them is sort of like giving birth. Hang in there, tough guy.

Katie - 2005-04-04 11:29:57
YOU JUST EXPERIENCED WHAT IT'S [ALMOST] LIKE TO GIVE BIRTH. AW, GUMPY, WHAT'S IT'S NAME? CONGRATULATIONS!

Hopefully, whatever article I read back in the day about a machine that can shatter kidney stones internally with sonic waves (or whatever) has actually come true. And for future avoidance of such evil creatures, I've heard a cup of coffee a day is a good preventative measure (the acid does something inside the kidneys to the calcium deposits, etc.)

Poor baby. Kidney stones DO suck. Are they gonna ulatrasound you and tell you how big they are? They can sono-something them to make them smaller so they're easier to pass. You might want to think about seeing a urologist. Just a thought. In the meantime, don't be a hero -- have some painkillers on hand in case you need them. She says, bossily. xoxoxoxoxo

In the realm of human pain, kidney stones rank second only to childbirth. I'm so sorry you're suffering so, Gump. Seriously, and all snark aside, here's a hug.

AJ - 2005-04-05 18:59:17
Aww...*hug* I hope you feel better, sweetie.

uNCLEPUMPKIn - 2005-04-05 20:52:37
Actually, a number of studies have shown that passing a kidney stone is much worse than giving birth. You're fucked, mom.

Megin - 2005-04-06 08:09:07
Feel better soonish.

AuntPumpkin - 2005-04-06 10:10:30
I agree with Uncle-P - women's systems are built to expand - whereas ye olde kidney to bladder passageway isn't all that flexible - I suggest some olestra - that will pass anything
