Wow and all I got for my sweet sixteen was dinner at a japenese steakhouse. Clearly I am deprived.

I loved the one episode with the chick who was poor and then was suddenly rich, when her friend is like, "I got my jewelry from Target" and that other chick is like, "What did you say?" like it's such a big deal. It's sad; the lives these rich people have. Hmm...watching that show makes me glad to be broke most of the time.

I didn't have a sweet 16. And AJ, I wouldn't go that far. I still want to be rich...just I wouldn't want my kids to be rich.

Oh my gosh. This show sounds hilarious. I'm so jealous I don't get MTV. We may get it eventually...Much Music picks up several MTV shows. I remember my sweet 16. I had about six girlfriends over, we had a sleepover, watched scary movies, ate pizza. Probably cost less than $100. Although, I think I got skis & accessories as a gift from my parents, which was pretty cool. Definately no car! When I did get my first car, I was 19, going to university, and it was a used Cavalier.

Thanks for the link. I may have written about My Super Sweet 16 first, but you did so much more comprehensively. As you know, I'm a complete whore for reality TV garbage. And it's always fun to throw things at my TV as I watch beeeatches say things that make me crazy. I love when the Jewish/Arab girl had her credit card cancelled by her Mom.

How many people do you think will really get the Angela/Jordan Catalano reference? (Probably less than would get a Nick and Lindsey reference). And I wanted that little Arabian bitch to die. No redeeming qualities whatsoever. I can't believe they gave in and gave her the Range Rover anyway. I would have given her a used Hyundai. 1988 model.

Gumphood - 2005-03-01 10:40:45
YOU'LL SETTLE FOR A KIA BITCH...(range rover my ass). I quivered with joy as the credit card was canceled. Those poor parents.

Christ, no one remembered my 16th birthday, I got felt up by my grandmother, there was some crazy chinaman running around and I totally gave my underwear to some geek at the school dance.

I love that stupid show and I think you did it some serious justice. Unfortunately I missed the after interviews - gotta catch those. And jealous girl from episode one was so great - shaving her legs in the kitchen sink!

I got the angela/jordan reference because I was obsessed w/that show back in the day. Uhh I bet that kid never gets laid. the wolverine kid. did anyone else realize that HE wrote that site and was referring to himself in third person?? oh and my sweet 16 my mom threw my birthday cake at me.

I didn't have a Sweet 16. Actually, I can't even remember what I did. I think I remember a movie and a stereo, but that's it. Oh wait, and a piggy bank (that I still have today - oh yeah). I didn't get my driver's license until I was 18, so I assume my Sweet 16, uhm, sucked.

No cable Nikki? Ridiculous. You are no longer American. You are American't.

Okay. That wolverine costume would be HAWT if ANYONE but "Nate" was wearing it... then again, someone geeked-out enough to MAKE that costume is probably a huge tool. Just like Nate. It's situations like this that makes my head hurt with frustration. WHERE are the awesome-bad-ass guys who make wolverine costumes and read Dickinson??? NOWHERE!! That's where. *end caffine freak-out* xoxo

Ye gods! My parents laughed uproariously at the suggestion that they buy me a car, any car. The did, however, rent a nice restaurant for my Sweet 16. I wore a "tuxedo," bought off-the-rack, as was the fashion for girls in 1982. We didn't have birthday cake, though. We had a sundae bar.

That Wolverine link was hilarious. That dude sure took a lot of photos of himself in full dork attire.

I can't believe you sat through that many episodes of that show. I change the channel when the promos come on, there's no way I could stand to watch that much brattiness displayed on TV. But then again, I did have a really bad fetish for "Rich Girls," two years ago, so maybe I shouldn't be one to judge.

I used to go to school with the dark-haired girl from the first episode, and I know a lot of people that went to the party. The theme song is "Sweet 16" by Hilary Duff. cheers.
