Let's to Eagles. Screw the New England Yankees... errr. Patriots.

Katie - 2005-02-04 08:56:31
Sides?! I'm still rooting for there to be a pudding moat.
-------------------------------
Gumphood - 2005-02-04 09:05:17
Did you mean Lets GO eagles...cause...you said Let's to Eagles. And the Pats are not the Yankees, here is why. 1) We don't overpay 2) Its a team not all stars 3) We Actually win the big game 4) Blue collar type of team. I admit I feel that people should cheer for the underdog, but we are not anything like the over paying Evil Empire. In 5 years the Pats will suck once again, because its football. Plus, the Pats are totally likeable, get no respect, and no one understands how they win.
-------------------------------
Andy - 2005-02-04 09:30:12
Pimp,(Cue Jackie Chiles voice) that Yankee's comment was harsh, uncalled for, and completely inaccurate. I demand you retract that false statement

*Gives Andy a High five*

Andy - 2005-02-04 10:22:18
Go Pats! Go Pats! Go Pats! Where you watchin the game Gump?
-------------------------------
razor-vixen - 2005-02-04 10:23:51
Wow. Did you get laid off too? That's a very intricate game. Must have taken a lot of time to lay out?! ;-) I hope your team wins (NE right?).
-------------------------------
Kelly - 2005-02-04 10:37:26
I got drunk just reading that. I know a lot of people here that are rooting for the pats. I'm not sure if its because then it justifies the ass whooping they put on the steelers or because they are a likeable team. I think both really.
-------------------------------
BigPimpinMBA - 2005-02-04 10:47:42
It's not so much the Pats as a team that makes me say that. I respect the hell out of them as a team. In fact, I, as a Jets fan first and an Eagles fan second, got into a heated argument with another Eagles fan that Brady is the best QB in the league, bar none. (Let me stress that this is coming from a Jets fan. The team that Bellichick spurned to go to the Pats. The team that the Pats have been annhiliting for a few years now. But we have Curtis Martin, right?)

Brady always makes the right decision at the right time. No matter how close the game is, you just know that the Pats are going to win it when it matters.

By the way, I get the Eagles thing second because the wife's family are all Eagles fans and my friend has season tickets to the Eagles and I go to quite a few games with him. It's not just a bandwagon, anti-Pats thing.

Let's GO Eagles. I can't believe that my spelling just got called out by the Gumpster!!!!
-------------------------------
BigPimpinMBAagain - 2005-02-04 10:49:34
Oh yeah... I say the Yankees comment because of the mind-set of the New England fans or late... The air of superiority and that the winning is expected, as if they forget almost every year before Bellichick joined the team. Makes me crazy.
-------------------------------
Andy - 2005-02-04 10:56:36
I disagree with you Bigpimp. I think the majority of Pats fans know and appreciate the reality of it all. The trash talking and air of superority people are just half assed fans who have jumped on the bandwagon only since the pats have been doing well. They are not the true fans. They embarrass me.

Real Pat's fans remember that this sunday anything can happen. Hell, the dolphins kicked our ass this year. The past few superbowls the Pats have been in were not "Blow outs" We won by field goals. And it wasn't too long ago that the Pats were just like the Eagles, the underdog that everyone had written off. And we all know what happened then.

That being said. GO PATS!

GoingLoopy - 2005-02-04 11:03:39
A few things: First, Pimp, since you got called on the spelling, you should totally point out the typos in Gump's entry. I know "Finish" was spelled incorrectly at one point. Gump, you didn't put ritualized puking into your "game plan." It's gonna happen, if you're mixing liquor and beer like that. Better that you plan it for a specific time. Finally, what excites ME the most about the Superbowl is that I won't have to put up with watching any more stupid football games until August. :)

Katie - 2005-02-04 11:05:02
PUDDING MOAT!
-------------------------------
Andy - 2005-02-04 11:15:30
We are not going to start to get on people's butts about spelling are we? I might as well give up now...

What's all this about a pudding moat?
-------------------------------
Ellen - 2005-02-04 11:17:50
You're fun! But. Go Eagles!
-------------------------------
Samantha - 2005-02-04 11:21:21
The rules to your drinking game are almost as complicated as those of football. Just like with electricity, being unfamiliar with those rules could lead to death.

If you need me during the game, I'll be painting my kitchen.
-------------------------------
Gumphood - 2005-02-04 11:22:22
When I call someone out on spelling, thats like the President calling someone out on rational thinking.
-------------------------------
Gumphood - 2005-02-04 11:24:13
And I really do appreciate that a Jet fan thinks that. I picked the jets to go to the playoffs this year. Its just they should have beaten Pittsburgh. The Eagles are a fun team. I hope their fans enjoyed getting to the Superbowl, and any given sunday a team can beat another team. But the Eagles only played 4 teams with a winning record this year and that includes the playoffs.
-------------------------------
BigPimpin - 2005-02-04 11:33:37
Andy and Gump... I apologize for the Yankees comment. Although it is funny to see how vehamently Boston fans react to anything relating to the Yank-Me's.

GoingLoopy... You make me sad by rejoicing in the lack of football. It's bad enough that there is no hockey for over a year and basketball really just sucks to high heaven. Now, there is no meaningful sports until the fall, when baseball starts heating up, and football and hockey start up again.
-------------------------------
Gumphood - 2005-02-04 11:36:47
You want to get to me; Yankees. I almost cried when I found out Tom Brady respected Jeter.
-------------------------------
jes - 2005-02-04 12:27:29
Gump, what if you are rooting for The Colts. I heard they are the hidden surprise of the second half, and the game is gonna turn into a type of two on one deal. Like good porn.
-------------------------------
Jessica - 2005-02-04 12:43:05
I don't like you right now.
-------------------------------
GoingLoopy - 2005-02-04 12:45:57
I'm sorry you're sad, Pimp. But the absence of sports for the next six to eight months should motivate you in your quest to have Diaperball endorsed and televised. It certainly couldn't suck any worse or be any more annoying than watching, say, golf.

You just improved an already amazing superbowl. I'm printing this out and bringing it to the pah-tay. Go Pats! Also, Pimp sucks. Eagles? Gonna choke.

Watertown MA baby! Yeah, I'm just that cool. But I can't wait for the game on Sunday, I'm watching with a bunch of friends at a house with HDTV - not my own, of course. Beer, chicken products, and screaming. And to keep tradition alive: a shot after the first Pats TD.

how long did this take for you to make?

Watertown Chiller? I used to live in Belmont....

Amber - 2005-02-04 15:58:22
Holy crap. I'm confused. Let me just say, I'm rooting for the New England Patriots and that's that. I couldn't really tell if you were rooting for or against them, but whatever. We'll all be drunk anyway and I mostly watch it for the commercials...
-------------------------------
Gumphood - 2005-02-04 16:27:02
Belmont...look at you Mr. Fancy pants. I'm keeping it real in East boston. (just kidding...)
-------------------------------
chillier - 2005-02-04 16:28:11
Belmont! The richer, dryer version of H2Otown. Or, as I like to call it, Pueblo de Agua.
-------------------------------
Andy - 2005-02-04 16:47:37
I lived in Belmont for 2 years. I had the cheapest apartment in town (Moraine St). It got too expesnive and moved to Lowell for 3 years. LOWELL for christ sakes. Actually, Lowell is a great town. I'm lucky to still be alive, but I had some of the greatest adventures up there.

i fully agree with goingloopy. professional sports are a waste of time and money. house the homeless in the stadiums and use the players salaries to fund schools. love, jj

Phil - 2005-02-04 22:06:04
Thanks for the tips Gump. I'm actually getting ready to watch my first Superbowl. I might have to change from beer to Irish coffee as it will be 7:00am on Monday morning here in Malaysia. So who are the Patriots? Are they any good?

today is your day big man... get your drinking hat on..
-------------------------------
BigPimpinMBA - 2005-02-07 08:46:11
Congrats on the win. Brady proved again that he is, indeed, THE MAN, while McNabb showed what a terrible big-game QB he is.

Andy - 2005-02-07 08:54:59
Gump...boy am I stuffed. That roasted eagle dinner we had last night was very fillling. :^)

Yup I hung out at the Brewery. I lived in Lowell from 95-98 and the Brewery was my place a few times a week. The owner had even given my a VIP cart to cut the line and get in free. My favortie bartender was an older man by the name of Jimmy. He had a mbig mustache and loved cuban cigars. great times.

chillier - 2005-02-07 11:10:07
Can I say hangover? Also WOOOHOOOOO!!!! I've never been happier that I dumped a bottle of champagne on top of an already voracious buzz. And I won't regret the tequila shots either because they represented TD's. Ugh. Anyway, great game. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish.
