You forget to mention the numerous people you bump into or push past every day - I believe you once pushed a child out of the way

I am truly impressed that you've taken the time (and probably made up for it somewhere else) to make these calculations and observations. I've kind of done the same thing myself in the past; getting into such a routine that I notice and plan on certain things happening that will save me a few seconds here and there - knowing that if I turn into the Marathon station and cut across its parking lot, I can avoid sitting at a stoplight by making a right turn. Or back when I smoked, knowing that I could chain smoke 2 cigarettes and get back to my desk before the end of my break if I cut through the cafeteria on the way back. I don't think I'm like that anymore, but I COULD use a swimming coach. :)

My current stance on jewelry is that i don't like to wear it unless it's in a non-conspicuous place, like my tongue or my nipples (so far, these locations have managed to remain inconspicuous). I do wear earrings, but just this one pair that I don't take out. My wedding band stays on my keychain because it likes to fly off my hand (I need to have it sized down again, but it's already a size 5). Rings with stones get caught in my hair, necklaces get broken or caught in my hair. That's my stance on jewelry.

I have noticed that if I am at a certain intersection at 8:34 in the morning, I have to wait for the school bus ahead of me to make two stops allowing the kids you didn't push to board. I also know that if I leave at a certain time I can make all the green lights therefore making it to work in about 5 minutes as opposed to 8. I just can't remember what that time is.

I LOVE maximizing efficiency in commuting. Being at a new campus has given me the opportunity to figure out which routes are the fastest. Similarly to crosswalks, sidewalks are stupid. I cross the "don't walk on our grass" chain fence to save 2 minutes, and I'm damn proud of it.

I never really THOUGHT about it, but wow..I do plan things out pretty exactly. It's nice to know that someone else thinks crosswalks are a stupid waste of time. Everyone always gives me hell for crossing the street when and where I feel like it. But when you have somewhere you want to be, why stop and wait, if you don't have to? You were a distance swimmer? How cool. I used to swim way back when, too. I know all about having to cut back times...I set a record or two in my day ;) However, I'm not obsessive over it, like you. But it's neat that you have calculated all of that. You are more and more interesting to me, everyday. Oddly interesting.
