Pony reminds me of Horse in the Full Monty. I did this as well, for 'retarded' children [aka special ed children] and this one girl, Tiffany, had a hole in her back and all she did was sing songs from the Little Mermaid-- it was awesome. P.S. I only emailed them ONCE. I was referring to the one time I emailed them. sheesh!!

in answer to your question: i work with kids, to some extent, but older ones. i've also had some experience with preschoolers, mostly of the headstart variety. it's some of the most fulfilling work i've ever done. kid hugs are just about the best thing ever. they don't discriminate. i'm enjoying reading your diary. i'm kinda new to it.

Aww, you always give us such good stories to read.. except when you're incoherently drunk, but that's a different story.

See, that's a nice and sweet story. I have horror stories to share during my reign as Sunday School marm. Me locked in a room of 20+ screaming and disobediant children for up to 3 hours. I think this is where my grey hair began its initiative to overtake the brown, one strand at a time.

You just described why I am dedicating my life to children. Gosh you keep surprizing me. I know that Pony, where ever he is, is better because you cared. He may never tell you so I will: Thank you for caring about him. Laural

Gump - Good story... and... ty for sharing your time with needy children. Sharon... there is no such thing as a retarded person. There never was... if you refer to a child with special needs, then please use the correct terminology. Retarded is an outmoded, outdated term, too broad for any specific area. My youngest son is a student at a Special Eduacation school, and I can guarantee he is not retarded by anything or anyone.
